Golf in the mud and then Vegas

Image Title

Hey everyone, It’s been an interesting few days. Last Thursday I flew into Houston and played a round of golf at Eagles Pointe Golf Club with a reporter from the Houston Chronicle for his “18 holes with” story. Unfortunately we got rained out (or with my golf game maybe it was good luck). After about six holes and a lot of mud (everywhere) we called it a day just before the lightning hit. We ducked in for a cup of coffee and the rest of the interview.

After that I headed to my camp for a couple days of helping the kids with balance beam and their end-of-the-week show for the parents. I awarded them each with a medal for all their hard work.

I flew out the next morning and spent the weekend in Las Vegas at a signing and ran into Dominique Moceanu and Kerri Strug as they were headed out. It’s nice to be able to run into friends throughout the year. We caught up quickly before they headed out of town.

I spent the day signing autographs with some professional wrestlers which was pretty interesting. I grew up watching WWF with my Dad, so it was fun. I didn’t win any money even on the luckiest day ever, 7-7-07. Maybe next time.

Sunday I headed out to Woodward West, a gymnastics and action sports camp, outside of LA. I’m here for a couple of days and then head back to Houston to start taping a few segments for my television show. We have some great gymnasts coming out to tape including 2006 world team silver medalist Natasha Kelly, 2001 world parallel bar champion Sean Townsend and 2004 Olympic alternate Raj Bhavsar. All three are eyeing spots on next year’s Olympic Team as well as the world championships this September.

Right now I am headed to bed. Good night everyone.

Hey Shannon, I think it’s cool that you’re doing all this blogging here. It kinda got me wondering, on myspace.com this profile has been around for a while at http://www.myspace.com/108942420 is this legit or a fake? If it is legit why not blogging there? lol…
