From the Podium

A busy week

I had a wonderful start to February. I headed home to Oklahoma to spend some time with my parents. We had a great time catching up, and the weather stayed nice enough for us to get in nine holes of golf. After that, it was back to my crazy schedule. Check out this month’s issue of “Women’s Day” where I’m quoted on time-saving tips. I have a zillion of these because I am an organization, scheduling, list-making freak. (And I’m OK with that.)

This past week has been filled with meetings for new projects and taping my next Gymnastics 360° show. We covered the Gym Gala, held in Ghent, Belgium. The show mixes artistic gymnastics with rhythmic, trampoline, dance, acrobatics and tumbling along with great music and costumes. Next, we cover the men’s Winter Cup Challenge.

Over the weekend, I spent some time in meetings at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. I’ll let you know what that was about in about 3-4 weeks!

To try to answer a few of the comments on the board … no, Gina Pongetti is not Gina Jackson. Unfortunately, Gina Jackson and I lost touch when her dad was transferred to another state for work.

And as for being asked for my advice. There are times when I feel comfortable giving advice and other times when it’s really not my place. Gymnastics, setting goals, following your dreams, staying fit and healthy, etc., are more up my alley than relationship advice. So without having more information or understanding the personalities involved, I would say that overall mending fences is a good thing, but you both have to be prepared to do that. Realize that the other person may or may not be there yet. Your best bet is to talk to close friends or family who are more aware of the situation and personalities involved that can give you much more educated advice.

Thanks for the comments and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!!!

Other then questioning my sanity at times, friends and family have been kept more or less out of the loop. No doubt it’s imporant for both sides to be ready and willing to talk, it’s just unfortunate that so much time has passed. I guess all I have left is to hope that one day we’ll be able to make it back on the same page again!
Anyway enough about that, one other thing I was meaning to ask was awhile back you mentioned that you got to play hockey with the troops! Just wondering if by hockey you meant “ice hockey” or “ball hockey”? Somehow I can’t picture you lining someone up and crushing them into the boards! lol. Speaking of hockey that was one hell of a freaky accident with that Florida Panthers player over the weekend eh?
