Commercial shoots, fashion shows and much more…

Sorry it took so long to write. I’ve had fun couple of weeks. Last weekend I spent a couple of days shooting a national commercial (due out this fall) with my 1996 Olympic teammate, Amanda Borden. We had so much fun catching up and joking around on set. I hooked up with Shawn Johnson and the Hamm brothers (Paul and Morgan) for dinner at a fantastic Japanese restaurant. They were all in town (Des Moines, Iowa where Shawn trains) to shoot a separate television commercial, also due out this fall.On Saturday night, Shawn and I went to see the Taekwondo Olympic Trials. It was incredible! We watched as Steven Lopez’s brother and sister, Mark and Diane, made the 2008 Olympic team. Steven (2000 and 2004 Olympic gold medalist) has already qualified and it’s a whole family affair with their other brother, Jean, coaching all three! After Mark’s round, Shawn and I were awarded honorary black belts so watch out!

This past week, the Women’s Europeans were held in France. Romania took the Gold with Russia in second, and France in third. Italy with, Vanessa Ferrari, took 4th. This week I’m going to check out the competition in detail for the next edition of Gymnastics 360° on Comcast.

In the mean time I am getting ready to walk the runway for the 9th Annual “Cure by Design” Fashion show and Luncheon to benefit the American Cancer Society. I’m looking forward to the event, but I have to admit I’m a bit nervous. I’m notoriously clumsy and I’m just hoping to make it through with out embarrassing myself too much. However, if do end up taking a nose dive, I feel confident (1) I know how to fall and (2) suffering a little embarrassment is the least I can do for such a worthy cause.

If you’re worried about falling, just imagine how bad it would be if you were a tightrope walker and you happened to fall on the runway. Now that would be even more embarassing! lol

  2. Lawfrog Says:

You will walk that runway with grace and confidence. Visualize it and keep telling yourself that.

By the way, I’ve seen you on the beam and floor exercise. If you’re clumsy, then there is no hope for the rest of us;)
