Have you seen the race? Its true Bode managed to dig 0.5m deep into snow after 5 gates, but do you blame him for worst possible snow conditions and his weight(as an all-rounder he is among the heaviest SL athletes). I certainly don’t.

I don't agree. Sometimes laying it on the line like that throws down the gauntlet and challenges yourself to get it done. It would only be foolish to say something like that if you didn't have the talent and potential to deliver.

I liked Bode's SL, too, except for his comment afterwards: "I'll make amends in Schladming." Never wise to speak before you deliver because we know how Schladming turned out.

All in all a great weekend. I liked Bodes SL very much, normally im a big fan of his all-out approach, but it didnt make any sense to risk his first Kitzs victory(and a record of course) and throw away almost 150points. Good job Team America for great victory and tactic.

First part of SG wasnt that tough and it seemed Bode chose right tactic entering the larchenshuss, because that turn was not so tight. In theory with direct entering Bode would bring a lot of speed out of that turn and actually win the race there.
In reality Bode was just unlucky enough to catch one ugly bump and although he made a brilliant maneuver to stay within the gates he was immediately out of the race for victory.
DH was pretty much the same story. Bode made two outstanding turns and with his high line he was ready to accelerate hard, but another stupid bump spoiled his fun again. Little less bumpy course or a bit better light and you would leave Kitz with 3 gold medals in your pocket!

Great IBM commercial airing in the U.S. (Might have been written for Bode.) "Stop talking; start doing."
