It would have been THE race of the year, the two Titans of the sport going head to head. Let's face it, Downhill is the crown jewel of alpine ski racing, and from a PR point of view alone, I can't understand the jury letting the race melt away so quickly. It would have been the perfect end to the finals on Sunday. Who the hell really cares about the team event, except maybe the Austrians? It's nothing but a cheerleading opportunity, a curiosity.
