It seems that we were all thinking the same when we saw it, and it wasn't a nice thought. The human body is quite incredible, you were like a dismenteled puppet, how you were able to get out of this, not only alive but in one piece, is quite amazing. Can't tell you how relieved we were on Sunday, and from me and all my friends in our staff, we wish you all the best for you and a great birthday, hope the cake will still be good in a few days !! Love watching the skiing and was shiving off study (medical finals this week) to watch downhill on sunday morning. Just tucking into cornflakes when I saw your awful crash, watched the rest of ski sunday which is generally quite boring, and not a mention of how you were. Tried on line and realised as usual in Ireland we never get to watch anything live and it had happened day before on your 30th birthday no less, now that really was unlikely. You have quite a way to celebrate your birthday... wow, it will be hard to top that :-) Like some wrote above, yep, we too (brother, friends) watched the race live and thought you were .... let's say... well, an ex-racer (copyright the Monty Python's) and we turned off the TV. It was among the worst image I ever saw on screen and it was impossible to spend the day without thinking of you. Late in the evening, some good news began to arrive. That's a real miracle. As Karl said earlier here, not only the crash, but more the convulsions you had, lying without the helmet, were dramatic. Hey, btw it's Monday here in France and they are currently still playing the full crash on CNN... And of course, now you're definitely a YouTube.com star !! Anyway, you can't imagine how happy I am to write this little silly note to you, though reading my english is probably not the best way to calm any headache. Take your time to come back, buy yourself a better helmet, and enjoy the first days of the rest of your life ! Because Saturday was REALLY a birthday, if you want my 2 cents (well, centimes, here in Europe, as you noticed !)
