kate,

it is great to see you progress and get closer & closer to the olympics & the world records. i love what you said about a bad race is only bad if you dont learn from it. my guess is that is why you have come so far. as a coach (high school & summer league), too many times our athletes get use to achieving best times that they dont know what to do when they hit a plateau. they dont understand that not every swim can be their best & they have to do something more or different sometimes to take the next step.

one of the teams i coach gets the honor of having you visit them this summer. the kids will truly benefit from your example. i only wish my high school girls could hear you too.

best of luck with your training & keep it going!!!

Kate --

We are so proud of you... that new 1500 record is just a touch away!

DC will look different when you return. It's springtime and the Cherry
Blossoms are in bloom. But the whole family is excited to see you
are doing so well. Hilary wrote an essay about you at her SAT prep
class Thursday night and shared it with Ryan L and I as we drove
home. It was adorable.

Give our best to your P's and maybe Ray, too.

Good luck and we hope to see you soon!
