Pro-Am Meet

The weather hasn’t been great in Oklahoma the whole trip but the meet has been going really well. We are headed into the last night of the meet and I can’t even recall how many meet records have been set. I have also been part of some really good races. I was head to head with my teammate Matt Owen for more of the 1000 and I wound up winning by only 2 seconds. Then there was a great race with Eric Shanteau in the 400 IM in which I went an in-season best time. It was even a little faster than I went at nationals this month. I only wound up winning that by a couple tenths of a second. Then last night I just barely beat out Ian Crocker to win the 500 free. I also went faster in that than I did at nationals. There isn’t much more I can ask for out of a meet.

Another fun part of this trip was this afternoon when Matt Owen and I discovered the ping-pong table in the game area of the hotel while our room was being cleaned. We probably spent a solid hour playing around out there. There was also a little kid that came to join us and he declared himself the monkey in the middle. So whenever we lost the ball he would go running after it and we would run around chasing him and usually let him get the ball. Then he would throw it back to us so we could play some more. It was a great way for us to kill some time this afternoon while our room was getting cleaned up before lunch.
