Photo shoot for Speedo

It’s been an interesting week or so. I got back home from Australia last Saturday and then started back training on Monday morning, 6:30 a.m. sharp. It was brutal and not pretty since my team had already come back from its break two weeks before and we had a test set that morning.
That afternoon was running while dragging sleds filled with 35 lbs. of weight and then stadiums followed by a pretty hard afternoon practice. Tuesday, we only had afternoon practice and weights. Then Wednesday, we had a.m. practice again and then an afternoon of running the campus loop (4 miles) and then swim practice. So by the end of that, I was pretty dead.
Fortunately, I had a photo shoot Thursday with Speedo in L.A., so I got to head south for that. I think that having the shoot was also good since vanity made me go running while I was wandering Australia, so I wasn’t in totally awful shape for those practices.
The photo shoot was fun because we got to do a totally cool night shoot. The photographer that Speedo uses is so amazing and creative. There are always such amazing images coming out of those shoots. It was also interesting to catch up with the other Speedo athletes and see what they were up to.
I didn’t stay for the full shoot though because I had already made plans to head even farther south to vacation with my boyfriend and a couple of friends in Mexico. Woohoo!
My friends live in a condo in San Francisco and did a home exchange with a man who owns what is essentially a mansion. It was totally isolated on the ocean about 15 minutes down a dirt road from a small town named Todos Santos (about two hours from Cabo). It was so amazing and relaxing — finally, my foot cramps have gone away. I also found out that I am pretty good at bocce ball.
Now it’s back to normal life — well, sort of. I have a clinic in Connecticut on Sunday. I think that I will be spending more time traveling there and back than I will on the ground. It will be fun though. And I’ll get to add some miles to my mileage plus account.

I love Tara! I copy her breastroke form (and love every minute as my coach yells at me to stop bringing my hands out of the water)…….um, like if Tara can do it and be totally awesome……obviously it works!
But anyway, I love this blog and hope it never stops. Keep posting Tara!
