Best weekend ever?

This weekend was really great! On Saturday morning, the team did “The Pentathlon” for practice. It is my absolute favorite practice! We warmed up and then did 100s of fly, back, breast, and free for time on about 10 minutes and then a 200 IM. We even put in the pads and timing system so that the times would be true. There is a point system for each race, and we added the points for each race together to see who was the overall winner. I got 4th overall, which I was really proud of (Dana got 3rd if you are wondering).

I went 57.2 in the fly, 1:00.9 in the back, 1:01.7 in the breaststroke, 54.5 in the free, and then 2:07.6 in the IM. I was really happy with those times. Although, I was really worried after the 100 free because I thought that I had broken my finger on the finish — it hurt really bad. But it now bends so I am pretty sure that it was just a bad jam.

Then, on Saturday night I did an event at AT&T Park for Johnson and Johnson (they are an Olympic sponsor). I guess that the American Academy of Pediatrics was having a convention and that Johnson and Johnson was hosting a family night for the families of all the people at the convention. It was totally awesome! I got to sit at second base and sign autographs with Jessica Mendoza, a super fun person who was two years ahead of me at Stanford and won gold in Athens on the softball team.

People were wandering all around the park doing cool things. All of the normal ballgame activities were open and the food vendors were giving out food. I got to go down the Coca-Cola slide and walk around and see everything. I didn’t get to play in the batting cages, but they were open too. Greg will be sad when he hears about everything that he missed (Jessica brought her husband) but he was off camping this weekend.

Today, Lacey and I went to check out wedding gowns. It was interesting. I found a few that looked good. And it wasn’t as hard as I thought to find dresses that weren’t ridiculously expensive. Afterwards, we went regular shopping. Lacey got some shoes to wear in her sister’s wedding, and I got some boots that I’ve been thinking about for a while. But check this out — they are Nine West and I saw them at Bloomingdale’s but then went to the Nine West a few stores away in the mall and found them for $60 cheaper! Yes! I also got a dress for Golden Goggles (I found out that it is cocktail attire and so needed to find something appropriate). But I am not sure that it is quite right, so I am going to think about it and decide later if I want to return it.

All in all, it was a really fun weekend!
