From Scrabble playing to Tampa
It’s 1 a.m. and I’m back in Palo Alto now (after 3 gate changes, a 4+ hour flight delay, a 2 hour flight, and delayed bags) but only for a few hours. Greg and I are leaving to visit our friends Megan and Nate in Tampa, Florida, early tomorrow morning. We can only stay until New Year’s Eve but we will get to fit in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ football game while we are there. It should be awesome!
My time spent at home with my parents was really good. It was a great opportunity to recharge after some intense training and get ready for more of the same. Our major family activity was Scrabble. I have been hooked since the first time I played it and used the word “Question” for a scrabble bonus – it also happened to be on a triple word score. Alas, that type of Scrabble play never happened to me again, but I still keep playing.
I also had a chance to do some more shopping for wedding venues. It’s getting to be around the time that I need to be serious about booking a place. The venue that I liked the best is already booked on the day I prefer so if I choose that place we will have to move the date up a week or so.
This is where my personality departs significantly from Monica on Friends. While I will admit that at times I am pretty neurotic, I am not super into wedding planning. I just want to throw a fun party.
