Dad’s retired, time for photos

Big news -– my Dad retired from his job last Friday! Yay for him! I had thought that he was going to retire the day after he turned 55 but then I guess he decided to stick around and finish off the month. I’m not quite sure what he’s going to do with himself now since my mom decided to keep working for a bit and our house is being remodeled.

Maybe my Dad will do some gardening. My parents’ gardens have suffered since Dana and I started swimming 15 years ago and took up the weekends with meets. Plus, a few summers back Dana and I coerced Greg into helping us pull all the blackberries out of my parents’ old grape arbor. The problem was that the blackberry plants were the only thing holding up the grapes! So we pretty much destroyed the whole system.

Anyway, I discovered a really cool gift for my Dad! It turns out that in Iphoto (an Apple application) you can make these cool picture books. My Mom gave me a whole bunch of pictures from when Dana and I were little and Greg helped me to scan them into the computer. Then, I put together a picture book for my Dad with a bunch of our little kid photos and other, more recent, photos like the ones from our family trip to Australia last year. My Dad really liked it and took it to work to show off.

That started me off on another book entitled “Greg and Tara: We are Seriously Obsessed with Each Other.” I got it in the mail yesterday and Greg thought it was super cute. It has a bunch of pictures from when we first met all the way through our engagement.

I’ve included a few photos from the two books I made just in case you wanted to see.
