Getting ready for U.S. champs
I am really excited about this blog opportunity because it has been a goal of mine for a while to spend more time reflecting on my thoughts and actions and this is a great way to hold myself accountable. My blog starts monday june 18th my mothers birthday and equally as important my quest to once again take my chances at winning a national championship.
Usually monday marks a new wk to prepare for a wknd race but today was the last day of practice 2morrow is off I will travel to indy at 9:50pm.
Wednesday I just have my race day warm up which we call premeet and thursday and friday are competition. There are 2 variables that make this year different. 1st the injury which I refuse to dwell on. I don’t have energy to waste thinking negatively. This is goin 2 be a positive wk so I am only dsicuss positive matters. So the 2nd variable is the fact that I have a bye. This removes all the worry and apprehension that comes with wanting to make the team. I AM ON IT!!! WHOOO HOOO!!! With that little matter out of my way I am free to focus on making sure I am working the kinks out of my race relax and just run. I believe sometime I try to hard and that is what cost me a race. My strategy is to go out and do what I know how to do run. Stop thinking so much and just run. I have a ton of fans and I am so grateful that despite not always coming out on top they stand by me and so I would love nothing more than to go out and put on a great show for all the people who are rooting for me waiting patiently for my return. My goals for this year is not to just get back to the old Lauryn but to become a better Lauryn. The 1st step would be to get back to sub11 performances but I want to have a personal best as well. I have got 2 finish packing and spend some quality time with Atheena (my great dane) so until later….
