I am back!!!! Small technical difficulties… My phone for some reason doesn’t work in Luzern, Switzerland. No one else is with an American phone has had a problem but me then we couldn’t figure out how to setup the internet in our hotel because the directions are in Swiss German. :-)

Luzern is GREAT!!!! by far one of the best meets and places i have ever been to. All 3 of the swiss meets (Lasuanne and Zurich) are well organized and in great location with great hospitality Switzerland in definitely my favorite country. I arrived here Monday after USA championships and competed Thursday the 28th. I put a good effort into over coming the jetlag but to no avail. :-( there was a diamond as a jackpot item here worth about 16,000 US $ an I calculated i had to run about 22.5 to be able to win it. I figured that was a reasonable time for me to achieve without too much trouble. WRONG!!! I ran 23.06 and got second place to my training partner Debbie. she had a great meeting and is coming along well. It is one of those situations where if i had to be beat by someone I am glad it was her. she didn’t win the diamond either though it was won by Aarik Wilson a triple jumper who is having a great season. And knowing him personally and the path he has traveled to getting where is he is now he deserves it!! he had a personal best and broke the stadium record so I am happy for him.

I am staying here and training until Wednesday when I will take the train to Paris with my coach. Yesterday (Saturday) we took the tour of Luzern’s famous Mount Pilatus. It was really nice. I have attached some pics for you to see hopefully. … :-) Also the view from my room is included in the pics. These are the things that remind me how blessed I am to have this job. I would like it more if I was winning and performing better but I have to step back when I am all pouty and remind myself that i am doing things some people only dream of.
